From my very first visit to the Blue Mountains as a child, the mountains has always felt like home to me. Being immersed in nature with and having your senses filled every day with the sights, sounds and smells of the mountains has me appreciating what a gift is is to live up here. I have been a mountain man for 24 years now and some say that I’m still not quite a local — but that’s ok, I’m not in any rush.
Coming from a background in TV production, computer graphics, animation and special effects these bush surrounds have always been the perfect antidote to the intense technological and mental demands of the work.
To me, the Blue Mountains has always been a tranquil retreat, filled with bird song and the crisp eucalyptus scents from the surrounding bushland.
I am so happy to be able to share this very special place with you! Reserve your peace-filled holiday in the Blue Mountains here.
The House
About the House
Wentworth Falls is a charming, and often overlooked Blue Mountains village. Filled with world class gardens and some of the local areas most stunning natural sights including the Wentworth Falls. Our local environment is relaxed and people move through their days at an unhurried pace.
I bought the house, Peace, back in 1996 as a tiny one-bedroom cottage. Whilst living their for many years I considered what I could do add to the house without loosing her heritage and charm. It was integral to me that any changes wouldn’t loose the magic that had drawn me to Peace and the surrounding bushland to begin with.
Construction commenced on a project that could only ever be described as a labour of love. As you move through Peace you will notice my use of reclaimed materials and the intention to maintain the ‘cottage’ feeling. I also wanted to allow the house to breathe with the surrounding environment. Although it took many years, and much blood, sweat and tears, Peace has blossomed into the house she is today.
I’m constantly refining, updating and refreshing Peace, as no project of this magnitude is ever truly completed, but it is my pleasure to have shared my home with hundreds of guests over the past several years.
